Swedana
The term “swedana” is used in Ayurvedic medicine to describe treatments which involve sweating. Many people use it specifically to refer to one swedana treatment, the closed steam box. Nasya
One of the Panchakarmas mentioned in Ayurveda, Nasya therapy is a process wherein the drug (herbalized oils and liquid medicines) is administered through the nostrils. Since nose is the gateway of the head, the therapy is highly effective in curing a number of diseases pertaining to the head, if it is performed systematically.
Abhyanga
Abhyanga massage is a type of massage therapy which is used by practitioners of Ayurveda to treat their clients. The massage involves liberally covering the client in oil and then using smooth, gentle movements to rub the oil deeply into the body.
Pizhichil
Pizhichil is another name of sarvangdhara meaning squeezing warm medicated oil all over the body with the help of cloth pieces ,which are periodically dipped into vessels containing oil.
Udvarthanam
The whole body is gently massaged with medicated powders prepared with various herbs. This helps to reduce fat patches from the body known as cellulites, toning of the muscles, improves blood circulation and eases joint pains.
